Psychos logo Berserker is an insane killer armed with a pair of bloody meat cleavers and is dressed in black pants and a yellow mask with a crudely drawn smile. He is covered in many tattoos and has a blue-dyed mohawk.

Emergency logo Climber is Berserker's first exclusive skin. He is armed with a pair of red ice picks and dressed in a red rescue jacket, black pants, brown shoes, a black beanie, and a pair of snow goggles with orange lens. He carries a black backpack.

He can be purchased from the Circus Pack alongside Saw and Queen for 925 money.

Functionality[]

Basics[]

He is a Psycho, meaning he behaves similarly to other units and possesses fear immunity.

Although Berserker is a human unit, his price is valued in rage points instead of courage.

Berserker is a strong melee unit. His stats are similar to other fighters. However with greater health, further augmented by his unique attack pattern, which has a double attack when attacking regularly. His critical attack comes even faster than his regular attacks, bringing both of his cleavers down at once, but it isn't a double attack. His rage cost and preparation time are moderate.

Some time after dying, Berserker will turn into Zombie.

Perks and Abilities[]

Berserker has negative charisma and massive valor, making him effectively immune to Fear under most circumstances barring the Halloween Event.

Upon reaching level 13, his special ability can be unlocked, granting him 50% critical hit chance increase as long as his health isn't full. Considering that his critical hit is faster than his normal attack, and that can still be just as powerful, this is a very helpful ability for Berserker. It also synergizes extremely well with Psychos 2/2, due to letting him deal constant crits.

Gameplay[]

Main Campaign[]

Berserker is a strong melee unit, with a combination of extremely fast attack speed and double attacks when attacking regularly that grants Berserker some of the highest DPS in the game among melee units, making him very efficient at shredding high health enemies and destroying the barricade quickly. Since both strikes deal the same documented damage, he deals double the damage in approximately the same attack interval as most other melee units. Although his critical hit isn't a double attack, it is not a hindrance as it comes out extremely quick, more so than his usual double attack. Essentially, his regular attack deals the same amount as a crit would while his actual critical hit does the same only much faster. His offensive capability is further complimented by his unique fear immunity perk, making him an excellent choice to spearhead through a large horde alone.

It is recommended not to have a large number of units on the battlefield at once since the fear debuff can actually hinder other units' total DPS, and Charisma will be nullified if too many Berserkers are on the battlefield. As Berserker uses rage instead of courage, it can't be the first unit to be sent out in a mission since rage can only be replenished by killing enemies. This is problematic since range units take some time to prepare until other units are already out and dealing with the enemies, especially considering that Berserker acts in the vein of a generic fighter without any perks besides psycho. Despite this, he can still be used as a support fighter while another melee unit acts as the focus of vice versa. Additionally, given enough rage points, Berserker works well with fellow units with the Psycho trait such as Saw and Queen given that they will be immune to fear, though making room for rage abilities such as the Turret can prove necessary in the late-game making the combination less useful. Nevertheless, Berserker still works well for gathering rage with help from the 2/2 Psycho team power.

Skirmish[]

In League, despite his extremely fast attack speed, double regular attacks, fast movement speed, and a very low cost, Berserker is a mediocre unit to use in most teams due to his lack of bullet resistance. Although he has high health, it is unlikely to be taken advantage of as most widely used ranged units can swiftly kill him, particularly Sniper Polina. It also doesn't help that his unique perk can potentially inflict fear in friendly units, which can be detrimental due to how fast the mode is. His only perk compared to other fast and fragile units in this mode, is that he and his fellow Psycho Saw are the cheapest units, costing only 5 rage points if given the maximum cost reduction items, therefore an good pick to activate the Boss item set damage boost, should the team has a few left out resources to spare. In other occasions, Players are better off using Rogue instead, as while Rogue can't inflict fear into enemies, he possesses a powerful stun perk and a much higher base damage, and with his special ability unlock giving partial bullet resistance, he will be a much more efficient unit.

Item sets

As aforementioned, Boss is one of the recommended sets for Berserker thanks to his lower cost and not entirely unsolvable prep time. Should he decided to opt for it, -prep time and cost reducing items are recommended, one for main campaign/events and the other for skirmish. While the fact that he is valued in rage points is often considered as a downside, this can be taken advantage if there is enough enemies on the field, and by abusing his high crit chance after unlocking the special ability and equipping a +crit chance book to constantly activate the Psycho synergy, or by pairing him with other spam units that also uses the Boss item set to keep activating the damage boost, essentially having two resources bars to spam units.

Gentlemen is also recommended, should the player decides to improve Berserker as a single unit instead the horde strat using the Boss item. Due to his high crit chance after the special ability, crit chance isn’t often needed aside from a single +crit chance book. Flat melee damage boost are recommended, as well as the same stats from the Boss item set. Even though he also benefits from +health items, aiming for prep time reduction essentially means that there would be more Berserkers on the field, which outclasses the advantages of having one slightly more bulky unit.

Berserker is one of the better options in both teams, but not exactly the best unit to use. While the Psycho team is known for its terrible unit rotation, Berserker is a good candidate for its 2/2 power due to his frequent critical hits, and works well with Saw for the purpose to accumulate rage. In the Emergency team, he's more potent, as he is one of the only proper fighters due to the lacking prowess of most others. Indeed, he provides meaningful damage with good health, such as he does get a lot out of their 3/3 and 5/5 powers.

Trivia[]

  • Berserker is one of three members of the Circus Squad, the others being Saw and Queen.
  • Thanks to his Special Ability, Berserker is the only other unit outside of Saw and Cashier who can reach 100% crit chance. Albeit, only in battle under his Special Ability's condition of being below full health.
  • Berserker is the only unit that used to be available as a reward from an exclusive event to be turned into a premium unit. He was replaced with Turbo for the updated version of Halloween Event. Before update 2.9.0, Berserker was obtainable for free in the old version of said event by collecting a set amount of pumpkins throughout all of the player's attempts.
    • In 2017, the required amount was 1,000 pumpkins, and in 2018, it was lowered to 500.
  • Berserker's design was inspired by some members of the Smileys, one of the gangs from the stealth-action horror game Manhunt.
